Soy Swells My Lungs
(Las Vegas, NV)
I suddenly developed an allergy to Soy at 43! I didn't feel well and had a hard time walking across the room without running out of air. I had a very difficult time remembering things as well.
I couldn't pin point when I was sick because it was all the time, except when I slept. I got worse and worse until my right lung stopped working and then I was treated for asthma. I was given inhalers to open up my lung, but the continued use of the inhalers made me worse.
I went back to the doctor again and he thought I had a heart condition. I scheduled an appointment with a heart specialist but never made it. I collapsed at work and was hospitalized for seven days. My second lung was 85% swollen shut with no explanation.
I had a pain in my throat and my chest hurt all the time. I went through every test known to man; they still thought it was a heart problem. Ultrasounds, MRI, Bloodwork everything came out normal.
I was even put on a treadmill only to last 10 seconds before I blacked out. I was getting worse by the day in the hospital. I was finally given a heavy dose of steroids and after that, my lungs started to open. So they sent me home.
Finally, I had a non traditional doctor and one year later, he diagnosed me. And then things started to make sense. Seven of the nine inhalers that I was using daily had soy. The hospital food had soy. The breathing treatments I had at the hospital and at home had soy.
Benadryl Fast Melts that I was living on were soy. Candles in my home and air fresheners in my work had soy. 90% of the food I was eating had soy. Even my lotions that I used had soy.
Once I knew the problem, my life was a lot better again. I am not sick at all, unless I accidentally get soy, am near a perfume, or expose in air freshener that has soy. It was very difficult to change my way of life, but well worth it.
Now, I have to be careful of all meds, all personal hygiene products, and EVERYTHING I eat. I have to read ingredients everytime I buy them because ingredients can change from one purchase to the next. I make homemade everything to allow me to eat pretty normally at home. Eating out is a nightmare.
My symptoms of soy allergy: I start to yawn when my lungs start swelling; I then start coughing, dry heaving, and get chest pains. My throat swells and my lungs will swell so much. It affects my rib cage and spine, and I need to have them popped by in place when the swelling dies down. I can be sick from 15 min (mild) to 4 days (severe).
Thank you for sharing your symptoms of soy allergy with us. I am sorry for your severe soy allergy symptoms. I am glad you found out that the best way to avoid your soy allergy is to stay away from all soy products even though you love soy.
I have a question for you. Do you think you will have the same symptoms of soy allergy when you just look at soy
or stay near soybeans?
If not, then, soybeans, black soybeans, or black beans are also good decorating materials in the house. Decorating a soy basket on the table or by the window gives us enjoyable
and pleasant experience in busy life (Like the image of the site home page).
