Strawberry Soy IceCream

Strawberry Soy IceCream?

After you make homemade soymilk, you will probably want to make soy ice cream.

If you have ice cream recipes already, you can experiment with substituting soymilk for milk.

However, if you use soymilk, you must chill your ice cream maker or bowl in the freezer before you make ice cream.

In addition,

Adding strawberries into ice cream will give you a great flavor. This will “reduce oxidative damage to LDL and adding fruit may improve the overall utility of diets” and your health.

Equipment For Strawberry Soy IceCream:

- Blender or food processor
- Ice cream machine

Ingredients

1 package of soft tofu or 8 oz. soy yogurt
1 ½-2 c. plain soymilk or homemade soymilk
1/3 c. maple syrup/brown rice syrup (if you want, a combination of the two or another sweetener instead of syrup)
½ c. strawberries (thawed and mashed strawberries) or Add your favorite fruits

Directions:

Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. Add your desired flavorings. Pour into your ice cream machine and follow the instructions for your particular machine.

Flavoring options:

You can add your favorite fruits to make your favorite ice cream.

Good ideas include banana (using mashed bananas), pineapple (blend a drained can of pineapple), vanilla (about 2 tsp. vanilla), or ginger (ginger powder).

Use 1 spoonful or ¼ tsp. ginger powder. When adding ginger powder, add it slowly, and taste the ice cream often so that the flavor doesn’t get too strong. You may need additional sweeteners.)

You can make your own varieties of ice cream using peaches, blackberries, raspberries, apples, cherries, oranges, peanut butter, caramel, coffee, avocados with dark-brown sugar, mangos, chocolate chips, or almonds or other nuts. Add more sweeteners if desired.

Use your imagination to create new flavors!
